With the recent rain everything has put on a growth spurt. Especially the vegetables. Today we ate our first corn of the season. Tomatoes are not too far behind.

In the orchard the plums will begin to ripen within the next few days. The Tecumseh’s are becoming slightly soft to the touch. If you have plums, go check them out ASAP. You don’t want to miss even one of them.

The Golden Rod is approaching full bloom. The milkweed pods are forming. Bee Balm is peaking. Today was nearly wind-less. The temperature was perfect and the conditions only improved as the afternoon turned into evening. Even for tor those who love every month of the year, August is hard to beat.
