Halloween joy on the stoop
Cammy and I took a short break from the orchard and visited family in New York City. We were in Brooklyn for Halloween. The closed streets were mobbed with trick or treaters. It was a massive crowd of humanity. Lots of multi-generational groups all decked out in hand-made costumes - AMAZING.
What does it have to do with the orchard? Like the orchard, it was a scene of joyful chaos with not a hint of politics or religion or money or discord of any kind. If only life could be like this every day. I even got to squeeze in a jazz show of the Sun Ra Arkestra billed as the Sun Ra Halloween Freakout—more joyful chaos…just like the orchard.
